Mr. Norski competition raises over $2,600 for MDA

On Monday, February 12th, DeForest Area High School DECA hosted their annual “Mr. Norski” competition at DAHS. Several male DeForest Area High School students competed in this event, including: seniors Tobyn Brockman-Breunig, Ben Georgeson, Jordan Hundt, Seamus O’Connel, Austin Rauls, Mason Scheel, Austin Rauls, Xavier Zimmerman, and juniors Evan Armstrong and Tim Noltemeyer.

3rd graders at Windsor Elementary School get into the Olympic spirit

Third graders at Windsor Elementary School held their own Windsor Olympics to coincide with the 23rd Winter Olympics being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. According to third grade teacher, Natalie Slaby, students and staff started with a parade of nations on Monday, February 12. Students held the flag of the country for whom they were competing. They then all gathered in the third grade family room to recite the Olympic Oath.

Students from DAHS honored for outstanding artwork

Students from all Badger Conference schools were invited to submit artwork for this year’s Badger Conference Art Show at The Stream Gallery on the Edgewood College Campus. Julianna Becerra Pastrana, Anja Brandl, Olive Foster, Alex Grabowski, Kelsey O’Brion, and Riley Wiggins all had pieces selected for the show, which runs from February 10th through the closing reception on February 25th at noon. Two DeForest Area High School students garnered awards from the show. Riley Wiggins was chosen Best in Show Two Dimensional and Anja Brandl received Honorable Mention in the Drawing category (pictured above)

DAHS grad Emma Loney informs students about eating disorders

Miss Wisconsin International is spreading a message she says more kids need to hear. Emma Loney has made it her mission to educate students in schools about eating disorders, knowledge she says would have helped her family when they needed it most.

YES students Skype with children's book author

Students at Yahara Elementary school had the chance to talk with children’s book author Bruce Hale via Skype. According to the Library Media Specialist, Jamey Stanosz, Hale talked about the importance of perseverance to students.

Eagle Point students gets the chance to be principal for a day

Robbie Allen enjoyed being Principal of the Day at Eagle Point Elementary School! He declared the day as PJ Day for the whole school. He also enjoyed sitting in the principal's chair all day, leading the pledge of allegiance, reading the announcements to his class, having lunch with Dr. Schoenberger and playing a game with her. Thank you, Robbie, for helping Dr. Schoenberger with her work today!

Eagle Point Elementary School spreads kindness

Eagle Point Elementary School participated in a kindness challenge throughout the week of February 12th. This challenge was inspired by The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and asked each grade level to complete as many random acts of kindness throughout the week as they could. All students completed 4,617 acts of kindness, with first grade completing the most!
