The cross is the place where all wounds of sin are healed. If you suffer from emotional problems— guilt, anxiety, depression, anger, you name it— there is healing for you at the cross of Jesus Christ. The cross reveals the character of Christ: His love for lost souls and His perfect justice meet at the cross.
It’s because we are all sinners in need of salvation! The Bible says that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We were conceived in sin, and there is no man who is free from sin.
& if you’re asking why we need salvation from our sins, it’s because the Bible says when desire is conceived, it brings forth sin, and when sin is finished, it brings forth death (James 1:15). Because all men have sinned, and the wage of sin is death, all mankind is subject to the sentence of death.
When Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden, mankind became cursed by sin. Because God is pure and holy, He can not accept sin into His presence. In order to restore us to His nature, He paid the lofty price of sin so that we wouldn’t have to. He died so that we might make the choice to come to know Him.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust THAT HE MIGHT BRING US TO GOD, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18
For he hath made him to BE SIN FOR US, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
