Monday, April 22, was when Boston’s baseball team, the Boston Red Sox made history. The Red Sox's players won their 106th game over the Baltimore Orioles in a 6-2 game. Making them the 19th team in baseball history to ever win 106 or more games. Acording to Bleacher Reports Joseph Zucker, “The Red Sox got a strong start from right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who struck out 10 and allowed one run over five innings. The bulk of the offense came in the second inning, as Brock Holt and Christian Vazquez each brought home a run before Mookie Betts hit a two-run homer to left.”
Experts from www.theringer.com say, “The 1912 Red Sox won 105 regular-season games, lost 47, and tied 2, good for a cumulative .691 winning percentage. No other team in Boston’s history has won so many games, even in a 162- game season.” Some experts belive that because the redsox won the world series in 2018, the Boston baseball team will win the 2019 world series. In 2018, The Redsox set the Mlb-best record of 79-34, and a 9 ½ game lead in the American League East. The Redsox own a Mlb-best 16-2 record, and are off to a historic start. In 2018, the baseball team were the first team to win 16 of its first 18 games.

Have you ever watched a Football game, and had friends over? Perhaps it was the day when 111.3 million other people in the world also watched football? If you answerd yes, then you must have been watching the superbowl! The superbowl is among one of the biggest sporting events in the world! Sarah Perez from Tech Crunch quote’s, “Streaming, combined with TV viewers and CBS digital properties like CBS Interactive, NFL digital properties, Verizon Media mobile properties and ESPN Deportes TV and digital properties, brought the total audience to 100.7 million, as noted above. But 149.0 million watched the game either all or in part (meaning they watched at least six minutes of the TV broadcast), according to Nielsen data cited by CBS.”

to watch the Stanley Cup. Acording to Paulsen from Sports Watch Media, “Washington’s five-game win averaged 117,000 viewers on NBC Sports’ digital platforms (+41%). Combined across TV and streaming, the series averaged 4.92 million viewers (+3%).” According to Most popular Favorite Sports, 13,189 people voted for American football as their favorite sport, and only 7,875 people voted for Hockey as their favorite sport.

Johns Hopkins could potentially have worst season in almost 50 Years

As of Sunday, 4-21-2019, Johns Hopkins 2019 men's lacrosse team lost almost all hope of making the 2019 division one NCAA tournament after losing their 12th game to number one ranked Penn State. This is partially due to their defense conceding an average of 12.7 goals per game. After losing to Penn State, to get into the NCAA tournament Hopkins would have to beat number two ranked Maryland (which they did) just to get into the Big Ten tournament. Then they had to beat Maryland again (which they did) in the Big Ten tournament and then beat either Penn State in the finals.
In the past Johns Hopkins Men’s lacrosse has been one of the best lacrosse teams in the nation. Head Coach David Pietramala says, “You look at Hopkins and the Hopkins history and tradition and there’s so many great players and great coaches.” They have won 9 D1 titles, the 2nd most of all time. Syracuse is 1st with 10. Hopkins has made the NCAA tournament almost every year since 1972. They missed out in 2013 although they went 9-5 which is substantially better than this year’s 7-6.
Not only has Hopkins struggled on defence but on offence also. Against Penn State only 43% of Hopkins’ shots were on net. Over the whole season Hopkins hit the net on only 58% of the time. The only thing Hopkins fans can wish for now is a miracle.
Why Didn’t Neuer’s Injury Harm Bayern’s Season?

Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper for the German soccer club Bayern Munich, was injured and missed multiple games but how are Bayern still in 1st?
In the 3 games Neuer missed Bayern had two wins, this is partially thanks to Sven Ulreich and Bayern’s strong defence. They also had one tie. One win and the tie were in Bundesliga games. the other win was in the DFB Pokal semi-final game. The reason Bayern fans did not worry during the 3 games Ulreich played is becuase last season Neuer missed almost the whole season due to a food injury. Despite missing their star goalie Bayern still won the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich is currently the top team in the German Bundesliga. They are 2 points ahead of number two ranked Borussia Dortmund. Against FC Nurnberg on matchday 31 of 34 Bayern tied 1-1. In their final games they play, Hannover, Liepzig and Frankfurt. Hannover is ranked last in the Bundesliga Bayern are expected to win although Liepzig and Frankfurt are ranked 3 and 4.
Niko Kovač, Bayern’s manager said, “If we keep winning, Borussia Dortmund can do what they want.” This is true. If Bayern win the rest of their games they will win the Bundesliga even if Dortmunt win the rest of their games.
Bayern Munich has won the German Bunndesliga for the past six straight years. They have won 27 Bundesliga titles, Dortmund has the 2nd most with eight. This year Bayern is looking for title number 28. Luckily, it still looks possible without Neuer.
Skiing Is Better Than Snowboarding

Why is skiing better than snowboarding?
Skiing is better than snowboarding for multiple reasons. One reason skiing is better is because snowboarding has really high contact when you fall and causes a lot of head and back injuries. These high impact injuries don't occur in skiing as much because of the way your body is positioned when you are snowboarding. Although skiers do get injuries they are not as bad as snowboarders. For example skiers get frost bite a lot but snowboarder mainly suffer from wrist and finger injuries because of the way you fall when you are snowboarding, you fall on your thumb and bend your wrist. Another common injury from snowboarding are spine injuries. Spine injuries are common because when you are snowboarding you catch your edge and your spine twists. Skiing and snowboarder both suffer from ACL injuries but snowboarders also suffer from other knee injuries like other torn muscles. Even Graham Schodel thinks skiing is better than snowboarding, he says “skiing is better than snowboarding because it it easier to back country( when you walk up the hill) and because snowboarders scrape all the snow off the trail.” Mr. Davey said “ skiing is challenging.” and Duru Ganioglu doesn't like snowboarding because she said“ too boring and I like challenges.” skiing is better than snowboarding because the injury risk of skiing is a lot lower than snowboarding, skiing is more challenging, it is easier to back country( when you walk up the mountain, and snowboarding is too boring.

Best team in the league gets swept in the first round of the hockey playoffs

This year in the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs the Tampa Bay Lightning got swept by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round. In the 2018-19 regular season Tampa didn't play bad, they were actually the best team in the league with 62 wins, 16 losses and four ties however Columbus only had 47 wins, 31 losses, and four ties. April 18th was a big day for Columbus fans, this was the fourth game of the playoffs against Tampa Bay. Tampa played hard the first game but gave up in the third period and Columbus came back and to win 4-3.
Andrei Vasilevskiy’s opinion on his teams playoffs collapse.
Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning Goaltender) didn't think his team could take the blame for it. He was the one to take the blame for the team’s playoff collapse. He said “I have to do better.” but when you look at the way they played during the regular season, and the way they played during the playoffs, you will find that Tampa played much better during the regular season. Perhaps the reason they collapsed during the playoffs is because they didn't play their best.

If you are a fan of Basketball you must know Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden, they are two of the best players in the NBA actually. Right now both of them are having their best year in their career and that makes them the top 2 players for the NBA MVP. James Harden is a Professional NBA player and he plays for the Houston Rockets. This season he put a show in all his games scoring more than 40 pts against every NBA team, Since Bill Russell and Michael Jordan Nobody had made something like that in years and the all public is talking about James Harden, also he’s having his best career stats with 36.1 ppg (points per game), 6.6 rpg (rebounds per game) and 7.5 apg (assists per game) Harden has piled up point,rebound,assist numbers this season that no player in league history ever has except for Bill Russell and Michael Jordan. The best season he had has been as impressive. And the fans talking about of his defensive work, long the area of his game it was the mosted talked , what he it’s been in the past. Harden won’t won any Kia DPOY (Defensive Player Of The Year) trophy, but he’s had improved that part of his game. Were it not for Antetokounmpo's season, Harden would be at the top of the list again. Giannis is not left behind. Giannis Antetokounmpo plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, he is one of the most powerful and unstoppable player in the NBA. ESPN said “Antetokounmpo is setting career highs in points (28.3 per game, second most in NBA behind James Harden), rebounds (10.1) and true shooting percentage (62 percent). He averages 1.5 points per attempt around the basket, third-most behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James (minimum 200 possessions) with enough speed and athleticism to add 1.3 points per possession in transition. On June 24th at the famous Barker Hangar there is going to be perform the event of the NBA awards which all the players from all NBA teams will be participating and also they will be there in case they win an award like the players Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden the protagonists of this article.
Victor Oladipo Injury.

Victor Oladipo had a horrific injury that put him out of the season in the NBA.
Victor Oladipo is a Professional Basketball player that plays for the Indiana Pacers, he was a big key for the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs this year but unfortunately he got injured.
His injury occurred when he was playing in Indiana against the Toronto Raptors on January 23rd
Everything occur when he went for a layup and he didn’t balanced when he was in the air and landed on his right knee.
Doctor’s talked about his injury and they all said that it would take him a while to to recover. Dr Rodney Benner said: “It would take Vic to recover six to nine months, that is the prospect of him making a full recovery would still very good. He will be recover in 6 to 9 months”.
Pascal Siakam player from the Raptors wich was going for the rebound as Oladipo said “'I didn't see what happened," Siakam said after Wednesday's game. "Watching the replay, he stuck his leg while he was falling. That's when he hit me. It's just an unfortunate situation. It's really scary, it's tough."
The Celtics Dynasty

The 1958-1959 Celtics were one of the strongest teams in the league. But did they have the potential to bring the trophy back to Boston. They needed the win that trophy. But they need to beat the best of the best before winning, and somehow they did. They one the NBA championship 8 seasons in a row. The best dynasty in Boston.
The Celtics had the best players ever. John Havlicek, Bill Russell, Larry Bird and plenty more. They were the
dream team of the 60’s. How did they get there? Well in 1957 the Celtics won their 1st ever trophy.
The team was founded only 11 years before that (1946.) Witnesses say “Unbelievable!” then two years later they won it again and again and again. Until 1966. The last year they won. Then it was the end of the Dynasty. But don’t worry they won in 1968 and 1969. Then there was a drought. They already had 10 titles to their name. (Dynasty means most trophies won in a row for a curtain period of time.)
5 years later the Celtics won again. The fans knew the drought would come to an end. Then they won in 1976, 1981, 1984 and 1986 until they hit the longest drought in team history. 22 years until winning another title. Now they still search for another. 11 years later the drought continues.
Now, let’s keep talking about the dynasty. Bill Russell says “Those were the greatest 8 seasons of my life.” John Havlicek says “We came together and we did what no one thought was possible.”
The Celtics still have the most amount of titles, maybe that’s why they call Boston title town. Well it has many other names too.

The Champions League (Semi Finals)

The Champions League semi finals begin on April 30th and May 1st. The second games are on may 7th and may 8th. If you didn’t know the champions league has two legs which are games. One at one of the teams hom and one at the other. But the final only has one game. If you are the away team and you score and the the final score of bothe games is 4-4 then you would win because of away goals unless the other team has more away goals. If you were wondering, the champions league is a championship or cup only for european soccer teams. Now only four teams remain. FC Barcelona (Spain), Liverpool (England), Tottenham (England) and Ajax (Nederlands.) Barcelona will face Liverpool in Barcelona Spain on May 1st and Ajax will face Tottenham in London England on April 30th. The final will be in Madrid Spain.
Based on statistics the strongest teams in the champions league at the moment is Barcelona and Liverpool. But they will face each other so one will be eliminated. Tottenham has a better team than Ajax. Ajax knocked out Real Madrid (Spain) and the favored team Juventus (Italy.) Based on my opinion I believe Barcelona and Tottenham will make it to the final and Barcelona will win the cup. But who knows.
There are groups in the Champions League. A group is the round before the round of 16 where four teams battle it out and try to come first. The two top teams in the group move on. There are 8 total groups in the Champions League, that means 16 teams move on to the round of 16.
Barcelona got first in their group. Barcelona beat Lyon (France) in the round of 16 and beat Manchester United (England) in the quarterfinals and now they're here. Liverpool came 2nd in their group and beat Bayern (Germany) and beat Porto (Portugal) in the quarterfinals. Tottenham came 2nd in their group and they beat Dortmund (Germany) and beat Manchester City (England) in the quarterfinals.
