Early Life

Stalin's early life was a hard one. He was born in December as Josef Vissarionovich Djugashvili later he changed his name to Joseph Stalin meaning "Man on Steel."

How Did he impact the world?

He turned Russia from a poverty ridden society to an industrial power. Governments took control of farms and if they said no he would kill them. He ruled with terror and he killed at least 20 million people.

Facts

1. Stalin contracted smallpox when he was 7 which left his face covered in scars

2. He was a perfectionist which gave him a scholarship to Tifilis Theological Semenary.

3. He was in 1902 for a labor strike.
