Variety of Talents

Tri-M Honor Society is an organization for students who participate in music programs to join. The name of this organization,"Tri-M," stands for Modern Music Masters. It is an organization for students to show off their talents and step out into the community.

The 13 inductees patiently wait to perform their variety of talents: Kierra Griffith (11), Malachi Hornbaker (10), Dean King (12), Lillie Matiko (10), Sarah Miller (10), Alexa Myers (10) Lauren Ramsey (11), Dylan Parker (10), Teagan Starenchak (10), Bryce Thomas (10), Elijah Poe (11), Dylan Poffenberger (12), and Mason Yonker (12).

The program opens with a snare drum solo by Mason Younker (12) playing "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?"
A solo done by Lillie Matiko (10) singing "Crocodile Rock."
A viola solo performed by Sarah Miller (10) playing "Lovely."
"Hey Good Lookin'" sung by Dylan Poffenberger (12) and accompanied by Patrick Hicks (12).

A violin-flute duet was done by Teagan Starenchak (10) and Malachi Hornbaker (10) in which they performed "Wonderful Tonight."

A piano solo was done by Lauren Ramsey (11) performing "Faded."
"O Holy Night" sung by Dean King (12) and accompanied by Patrick Hicks (12).
"Sonatina in F Major, Anh. 5" performed by Bryce Thomas (10) on the piano.
A clarinet solo of "Amen" performed by Elijah Poe (11).

A duet with Dylan Parker (10) playing the guitar while singing "Bumper Cars" with Kierra Griffith (11).

Their Pledge

The pledge is recited by all of the inductees to mark their membership in the Tri-M Honors Society. This pledge is their agreement to step out in the community, and in the school, as leaders in the Music Department and to encourage the members of society to appreciate music.

"We, the members of the James Buchanan High School Music Department, in order to foster a greater continued interest and a desire for excellence in music performance; To encourage appreciation and awareness in listening to music; to promote wider opportunities for sharing joy through music, both within our school and within our community; to advance the spirit of good music and musical knowledge, and to enhance the reputation of our school as a center for musical enrichment, accept the honor now granted to us."
The inductees rise and recite their pledge to become members of the organization.

Inductions

In order to be inducted into Tri-M Honor Society, you must perform a piece of music to show that you are involved in the school. This induction also shows off the musical talents of the different students that want to be part of the organization.

The inductees individually receive their certificate from Nick Alfree (12), the Tri-M president, to officially become members of Tri-M Honor Society. Previous Memebers

Many of these members are officers. As previous members of Tri-M, these members know what the organization is about and have the same duties as the new members, but must help the new members along the way in this new adventure.

New Members

As new members of Tri-M these students are going to learn what it means to be better leaders and musicians. These individuals will grow in their musical knowledge as well as help out in the community, stepping up in leadership roles.
