Reclaimed Wood Mantle With Bow Ties!

Our client bought this raw timber from Salvage Works to be used as a floating mantle

They didn't want open cracks and were concerned that they would expand if left unaddressed

Our shop came up with this bow tie inlay design and did a practice sample for client approval

The bow tie splines help hold each side of the split in place and they look cool too!

We used walnut for the bow ties. Epoxy fill was set in the cracks, then finish applied

Finally we installed the mantle with hidden supports

We slotted the back of the timber to run wiring to an outlet set just behind the sound bar

No wires or supports showing, another nice and clean install by our shop crew!
