Coal mining impacts Public safety By: Haileigh House

Many people visit old coal mining sites because they are interested, but these mines can be very dangerous. At any point the ceiling or floor can collapse within the coal mine.
Colorado and Nevada are known for having old coal mines. The government or mine owners perform safety projects on the sites. They install no trespassing signs, fences in needed areas, and warning signs.
People hang up signs to warn others instead of destroying the coal mining because these sites gives bats places to live. Some bats are endangered and it's very important we keep the best environment we can for them.
