Mon Macatangga

With 11 years of combined teaching and industry experience in Metro Manila, Philippines, Dr. Raymond S. Macatangga or better known as “Mon” to his friends is currently the Dean of the College of Computer Studies and is holding the rank of Professor III at the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). He attained several I.T. certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Educator, Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Office Specialist, Internet and Computing Core Certification and Micro Certification in IT Governance and Management.

During his tenure as the Dean of the College of Computer Studies, the BS Computer Science (BSCS) and BS Information Technology (BSIT) programs were accredited as Level III by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) from January 2018 to 2021. Also, the college was recognized as the First Philippine Education Partner of Huion since 2017.

Mon was recently elected as President of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) National Capital Region (NCR) Chapter this Academic Year 2018-2019. He previously served as PSITE-NCR Chapter Officer from 2012 - 2016 and 2017 to present. In 2016, Mon was elected as Auditor of the Council of Deans in Information Technology Educators (CODITE) of the National Capital Region (NCR). The COMELEC Advisory Council had appointed him as part of the nine member advisers of COMELEC to prepare for the Automated National and Local elections since 2015 up to present. On the same year, he was also appointed as member of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) of the Commission on Higher Education to evaluate different computing programs in NCR and MIMAROPA.

On his free time, Mon loves to take photos of churches and nature. He is also a book author and editor of different computer books. He is happily married and is blessed with two beautiful daughters. He also loves to travel especially with his family.
