Chapter 1: God, I Guess
This chapter is called "God, I Guess" because Greg believes that his life does not make any sense when God is not involved. He does not know why he helps the homies out, but he does it anyways. My favorite story from this chapter is the story about Willy. After Greg left the car to go get some money, he decided to pray. When he listened to God, he saw him and started crying. He was told that he was firme, which means could not be one bit better. This story spoke to me because it showed that God loves us no matter who we are, or what we have done. All that matters to God is that we come back to him.
Chapter 3: Compassion
This chapter is called "Compassion" because it is a strong feeling that we all feel when we see someone in need, but almost none of us can define it. However, when you find out that Compassion is God, it amplifies our compassion. Some homies discovered Compassion, and that is why it is the name of this chapter. My favorite story from the chapter is Looney's. He was a troublesome kid that stopped going to school, and was sent to a probation camp. He came back to G with "Straight A's." They are an A, two B's, and two C's. Greg tells him that he did good, and Looney is proud of himself. This is my favorite story because Looney found something in himself that he was proud of, and wanted to show it to his favorite person.
