40-Second Elevator Pitch

Summary Statement

Currently, I am a senior at California State University, Fullerton pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance with a concentration in Investments and Financial Planning. I have been given the honor of receiving a position as an Equity Analyst for the Titan Capital Management Fund, which is a student lead investment fund account under the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation endowment. This fund is designed to give students real world experience as portfolio managers of an investment fund and a portion of the proceeds help fund programs at the school like the tutoring center. In addition to being an Equity Analyst for the Titan Capital Management Fund, I have grown and manage my own personal investment portfolio worth over six figures. I have had a love and passion for the study of business and finance from a very young age. After receiving the Business Department PTSA award at Fountain Valley High School, I went on to get dual Associate’s Degrees in Business Administration and Accounting at Orange Coast College, where I also received Certificates of Achievement in Marketing and Finance. As I have advanced in my educational pursuits, my passion for business and financial analysis has continued to develop as I have seen the growing importance companies are placing on analyzing the vast amounts of data that their businesses generate from operations, marketing and finance. This is evident from the new executive position being created at many corporations of Chief Data Officer and the exploding demand for data analytic software like that offered by a local Orange County firm called Alteryx, which is why I am continuing to develop my analytical skills as I strive to complete my Bachelor’s Degree.

Past

I have had a love and passion for the study of business and finance from a very young age. After receiving the Business Department PTSA award at Fountain Valley High School, I went on to get dual Associate’s Degrees in Business Administration and Accounting at Orange Coast College, where I also received Certificates of Achievement in Marketing and Finance. As I have advanced in my educational pursuits, my passion for business and financial analysis has continued to develop as I have seen the growing importance companies are placing on analyzing the vast amounts of data that their businesses generate from operations, marketing and finance. This is evident from the new executive position being created at many corporations of Chief Data Officer and the exploding demand for data analytic software like that offered by a local Orange County firm called Alteryx, which is why I am continuing to develop my analytical skills.

Present

Leveraging my time management skills, passion for self-development, and strong work ethic, I have been able to work nearly full-time while taking a full class load at the same time. During the last five years, I have worked closely with the founders of my company to triple the size of the business in sales, assets, and labor force while maintaining our excellent reputation and customer satisfaction. I have worked with these executives to analyze the profitability of acquiring equipment for the business. Also, I helped develop and implement an employee training program to improve their productivity and accountability, and provide them a clear path for career development. Finally, I have helped the executive team to develop a maintenance and services business in order to improve customer retention, strengthen customer satisfaction, and drive customer referrals, which has led to increased business for the designand installation departments. Working with this small yet fast growing business has given me the opportunity to get entrepreneurial experience and has allowed me to work with all aspects of a business from marketing to sales, customer service to operations management, and financial planning to goal atainment.

Future

Upon graduation in May of 2019, my goal is to receive a position as a financial analyst at a financial services or financial technology firm where I can gain further exposure to and experience in the world of analytics. I hope to provide my firm with valuable and actionable insights that can allow them to improve their business and better serve their customers, ultimately driving sales and profits for the owners of the business.
