Home to the national champion NSU Sharks golf teams, Grande Oaks Golf Club was created amidst natural oak hammoks. The course is a par 71 and measures 6,680 yards from the tips. In keeping with tradition, all tees at Grande Oaks are perfectly square and aligned to the middle of the landing area offering a variety of distances in which to play. The greens are planted with Tift Eagle, an ultra-dwarf that is superior to others allowing faster, truer greens play, while the fairways are planted in Bermuda 419. The 18-hole course was built on rolling terrain and has fairways lined with mature Spanish Oaks and Australian Pines. This course became a landmark and playground for the stars when it was used as the location for the successful comedy movie, "Caddyshack."
