Preventing falls in older people through conversation 31 January 2017

NICE published an update to its 'falls in older people' quality standard on 31 January 2017. It called for health care professionals to regularly ask older people, aged 65 and over, about falls during routine appointments in a bid to help prevent falls, disability and loss of independence.

The story was picked up by many of the national news outlets, many focusing on the GP aspect of the recommendations.

The story was also of particular interest to trade publications.

So far, there were 14 pieces of coverage reporting on this falls story in print and online - with great pick up in the nationals.

We also published our own news story on the NICE website to promote this updated quality standard to our online audiences.
