Starry Nights, Desert Days A Trip to the Sahara

For five days, we traveled by bus from Marrakech to the Dunes of the Sahara Desert. Then onward to Fez until we arrived back in Marrakech.

With over twenty hours of travel time, we made many pitstops along the way. The most memorable was Ksa Ait Ben Haddou, a small village along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Fun fact: Some scenes of Gladiator were filmed here!

My fellow travel companions are a group of digital nomads with whom I've been living, working and traveling for the past six months. They are my "tramily" [Tribe + Family].

Some of the many faces of Remote Year Veritas
“I have always loved the desert. One sits down on a desert sand dune, sees nothing, hears nothing. Yet through the silence something throbs, and gleams...” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
“I shivered in those solitudes when I heard the voice of the salt in the desert.” ― Pablo Neruda

Our Sahara trip was capped with a visit to a nomad camp and a trip to the famous leather tanneries in Fez.
