Montana State University Billings Access & Exellence

the MSU Billings Experience

Counselors. Teachers. Parents. Friends. Professors. Staff members. Current students. They will all have their opinion about where you should go to school.

What it comes down to is you and the experience you want.

World-class education. Fascinating professors.

We’re not just going to throw a number out there of how many have the highest degree in their field (it’s 86% of them, btw). you can get that anywhere. Ours are different; they've lived what they teach. Sure, they’re experts in their fields, but that’s not the only thing that makes them fascinating. They are award-winning, book writing, patent earning, been on Jeopardy, former executives at fortune 500 companies, nationally ranked scrabble player fascinating. That’s what you get at MSU Billings.

Billings, Montana

Montana’s Trailhead, the Magic City, there’s one name over 100,000 people call it - home. And home it is - home to a minor league baseball team for the Cincinnati Reds, home to the largest shopping center in the state, home to fairs, farmers markets, street festivals, theaters, and multiple venues that bring in major, big name entertainers.

Get Out and Play

From mountain biking the Rimrocks to skiing Red Lodge Mountain, there's always something to get your adrenaline going. Montana's highest mountains, the amazing (and uncrowded) Beartooths, are a short drive from the city, and Yellowstone National Park is just beyond the Beartooth Scenic Highway.

Yellowjacket Athletics

At MSU Billings, our student-athletes succeed both on and off the field. Yellowjacket student-athletes participate in 17 different NCAA Division II sports. Our athletes have been awarded the NCAA Post-Graduate scholarship on numerous occasions. They play to succeed on the court, in the class, and throughout the community.

More than 240 student-athletes compete on MSUB’s teams, and members of Yellowjacket teams posted a collective 3.15 grade point average during the 2015-16 academic year.

Stay Active

Flag football, volleyball, softball, basketball, disk golf, racquetball, tennis, dodgeball - these are some of the sports we know you love. So grab some friends, old or new, and make a team. It also makes a great study break. We know you care about your health, so we invite you to enjoy our facilities including a fitness center, two gyms, indoor running track, pool, saunas and racquetball courts.
