1 John 4:10 - This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
How can you know that the Father loves you? What is the rock-solid proof?
He sent his Son, Jesus, to be sacrificed for you.
The Father did not just say, "I love you." He proved it. There is nothing more he could do to show his love to you.
The more you understand how much the Father sacrificed for you by sending his Son, Jesus, to die for you, the more you will begin to experience his love.
Take time right now to thank the Father for the cross. Thank Jesus for taking your place. Speak your gratitude out loud. Don't hold back.
"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:18 This is exactly what Jesus did!
"Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." 1 John 4:11-12
The Father wants to make his love real and complete in your life. This will happen as you give your love to others. How?
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16
It's all about sacrifice, surrendering and laying down our preferences for the good of another.
Spend time giving uninhibited thanks for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for you. Thank the Father for proving his love to you.
Give your love away freely as Jesus has loved you. Don't wait until you feel loved to love another person. Give love before you think you are filled with love, and the love of the Father will flow through you.
