Milwaukee collegiate Academy is making history MCA Celebrates Black History Month

During Black History Month, Milwaukee Collegiate Academy students are sharing their stories.

My name is Kailon.

I am a student announcer at MCA. I am most proud of my ability to be positive in negative situations.

My name is Taviah.

I am involved in Student Council and many commuinity service opportunities inside and outside of school. I am most proud of not giving up when things get hard.

My name is Imani.

I am a Student Ambassador at MCA. I am most proud of having the support of my teachers who urge me to keep trying and to never give up. I will be going to college to become a social worker.

Students and staff celebrated the first Friday of Black History Month with a rousing rendition of the Black National Anthem to kick off the morning meeting. The featured vocalists were led by Special Education teacher Ms. Reed.

Dr. Howard Fuller led discussions about Black History Month for 11th and 12th grade students on January 7.
