Often I have used the quote before, "The only constant thing in this generation, is change itself.” As we are bombarded on all forms of media platforms with world events, whether locally or internationally. It's not the world that we grew up in, and it's so hard at times to shelter our kids from the realty of a world that is fast and changing.
Though we cannot hide our kids from such troubled times we can teach our kids how to respond to it within our Christian faith.
While preparing my talk for our Middle School Chapel this week on prayer and why Christians pray, I was reminded of the 'Prayer of Peace' often referred to as the Prayer of Saint Francis.
I believe the greatest lesson we can teach our young is that we may not always be able to change others but we can change ourselves and how we respond to others as followers of Christ.
Make me a channel of your peace, where there is hatred let me bring your love, where there is injury, your pardon Lord, and where there is doubt true faith in You.
Make me a channel of your peace, where there is despair in life let me bring hope, where there is darkness only light, and where there's sadness ever joy.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek, so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in giving to all man that we receive, and in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Blessings Pr Richie

CSSA Secondary State Cross Country
Friday 2nd of June saw a group of our Middle School students compete at the CSSA Cross Country carnival. The carnival took place at the Horsley Park Equestrian Centre, a challenging track. The best long distance runners from Christian schools across the entire state of NSW attend the CSSA event, making for a competitive field.
Our students did extremely well. Stand out performances came from Mason Jeffrey and Tyrone Randall, both finishing in 10th place, qualifying for the NSW CIS Cross Country event. Claudia York finished in 18th and Keeva Raftery finished in 19th, excellent achievements to finish in the top 20 at this level. Jessica McIlwraith came in 24th and Ethan Todd came through in 25th, great results!
It was good to see the hard work at Friday running training paying off for many of our students. A real highlight from the day was Jacinta Moussa improving her finishing position from last year by over 20 places! A testament to the hard work and effort that she has put in, along with many others who attend the weekly running training.
Congratulations to all our runners who competed and represented our school at this event.
