Securing Passwords By Hamza islam

What is a hacker? A hacker is a term that was used in the 1960s and described as a programmer or someone who hacks computers. Later the word meant an individual who had an advanced understanding of computers, networking, programming, or hardware, but did not have any suspicious things. A criminal hacker is someone who illegally breaks into computer systems to steal information. Those are the people you want to stay away from. The criminal hackers are known as black hats while the good ones are called White hat hackers. Without them, all computers would be vulnerable to attacks and when attacks do happen, it would be much harder to find the who, when, and why the attack happened.

Here are some statistics to throw out. In an article by Entrepreneur.com, statistics show that 2 in 5 people had an account hacked or had their passwords stolen. While 8 in 10 people are worried about their online security and 7 in 10 people no longer trust passwords to protect online passwords. The 5 most common passwords were: 12345, 123456, 12345678, qwerty, and password. 47% of people's passwords were over 5 years old while 21% of passwords were over 10 years old. While many people have been worried about their passwords, 68% of people today say they want companies to provide an extra layer of internet security.

Hackers hack passwords in many ways. One way is social engineering which takes advantage of human beings to gain information that would later come back to haunt them. A common social engineering technique is simply to ask for their passwords. Another tool they use is RAT which stands for Remote Administration Tool. With this tool, hackers can connect to your PC, without your knowledge and can tell what's going on your screen. It can also copy files from your hard drive.

There are many ways that you can protect your passwords. The first thing you can do is you don't want a weak password because it is easy for an hacker to hack in to your account. Prefer to use longer passwords but make one that you would remember. Another example is that you shouldn't share your password to a friend even if it's your best friend because they could betray you and get you in trouble. You should use a Password Management Software because it's not only secure, but you can also remember passwords better. If you choose to do this, the software to use would be SecureSafe Pro.

If your account has been hacked for some reason, the most important thing to do is to try and reset your password. If you fail to reset your password, notify the company immediately. After changing your passwords, if your account has any shipping information, make sure it's your address. Delete any third party apps that have rights to your accounts. If your social media has been hacked, make sure there are no posts or message that you've had because social media accounts are hacked to help spread spam and advertisements. You should let your other contacts know that you've been hacked. Hackers gain access to other accounts by finding out who's affiliated.
