Spread the Word >> Inclusion works to promote the inclusion of all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). In schools, workplaces, and communities around the world, we want leaders to take a pledge to create socially inclusive spaces to learn, work, live – and love.

Pride month marks an opportunity to come together to work toward a more inclusive world for all and celebrate in a positive, affirming, and inclusive atmosphere. This toolkit aims to provide resources for promoting inclusion and understanding the intersecting identities and communities individuals with intellectual disabilities are a part of.

Individuals with IDD who are part of the LGBTQ+ community can face even more challenges in society including access to resources, care, and support appropriate to individual needs. As we continue to advocate for a more inclusive world this Pride month, we support the individuals within Special Olympics and Best Buddies and our intersections with the LGBTQ+ community. We recoginize the progress we've made, and how far we still have to go.

Throughout the month of June, we will be sharing stories from individuals with IDD and others within our Special Olympics and Best Buddies communities who intersect with the LGTBQ+ community. Follow us @PledgeToInclude on Facebook, InstagramTwitter, and YouTube to hear stories each Wednesday in June!

We have some exciting guests and partners joining us this month including Nina West of RuPaul's Drag Race, and an event later this month with The Mighty, The Trevor Project, and Special Olympics athletes!
