Shakira by: Camerin Dissinger

Shakira is important in latin american history because she became a Unicef member at the age of 16. and she also created the Pies Descalzos Foundation (Barefoot Foundation) which focused on helping children displaced by violence in Colombia.

Shakira is connected to the 8 themes of world history revolution because in 2011 Shakira became a unicef ambassador. she is connected to cultural interaction because she helped people around the world and she took her culture around the world and made a whole community out of it.

"We know that many boys and girls leave school because of poverty, because they have to work. However, there are an important number of children who abandon their studies because of the abuses they're subject to by teachers and their own parents." this quote proves that Shakira believes that no child should be left behind and that is also why she started the pies descalzos foundation(barefoot foundation.)
