Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin near Hayneville Kentucky, February 12,1809. At age 7, Abraham and his family move to Indiana there Abraham did chores and read books. Lincoln's mother died at only 34 years of age, young Abraham Lincoln visits his mother's grave.

Lincoln's main goal in the war was to save the Union, However he knew he had to settle the slavery question in order of the united states to survive.

Lincoln was a strong president at first his deliberate thinking and extraordinary patience deceived his cabinet into thinking him uncertain. Lincoln immediately summed U.S, Union Troops to defend Washington D.C on April 19. In 1861 he became president . That same year, the civil war began . The county fought about slavery and states' rights.

His four sons names are Edward, William, Thomas and Robert. He also married Marry Todd.
