Physical wellness promotes proper care of our bodies for optimal health and functioning. Attaining a healthy lifestyle comes with consistent exercising, and keeping a well balanced diet. Climbing a mountain is no doubt a challenge, but reaching the top proves a person has solid physical wellness.
Occupational wellness is the ability to achieve a balance between work and leisure time, addressing workplace stress and building relationships with co-workers. On the farm, the workplace can, and usually is, different every day. Working on a family farm also means my co-workers and I have strong relationships. If a person can smile while accomplishing work, it means they have strong occupational wellness.
Environmental wellness involves leading a lifestyle that is respectful of and in harmony with your environment. Whether it's not littering, or enjoying nature itself, achieving environmental wellness can be simple. Fishing's just one example of enjoying the outside air, and becoming one with nature.
Spiritual wellness is a personal matter involving values and beliefs that provide a purpose in our lives. Attending church can help someone find a purpose in their life. Although it was tough right after, now that everyone's healed up and back to normal, our friendships got that much stronger.
Intellectual wellness involves assimilating what is learned in the classroom with life experience. Whether it's at work, or during a conversation, using knowledge learned from school is important for anything. Graduating high school requires a fair amount of intellectual wellness. It's only been under a year since graduation, but I've already utilized information learned from high school.
Financial Wellness is an intricate balance of the mental, spiritual and physical aspects of money. It's vital for one to learn how to take care of money. Whether it's saving up for something, or paying the bills on time. The picture above is my fully paid off truck I bought a few years back. I took a loan out for it, but made every payment until it could be officially called mine. Although I'm not the wealthiest of people, being able to pay the loan off shows good financial wellness.
