Lions live in all over the world. They are predators to lots of animals. Keep reading to find out more about these wild beasts.

Male lions weigh around 190kg and female lions weigh around 130kg. They live for 10-14 years in the wild.

Lion Cubs

A lions gestation period is 110 days and whilst she is pregnant the other females will hunt food for her. Lions can mate 20-40 times a day.

Size and speed

Lions are the second biggest cat in the world second to tigers. Lions can reach speeds of up to 50 mph. They can only reach these speeds of in short bursts as they run out of energy

Where do lions live?

You can find lions all over the world in zoos but if you want to see them in the wild you can find then in: Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe
