As i see it (2017) By Roger the Blind Cat

DecemBer 2017

December 24

I’m sorry that it’s a long time since I’ve written, friends. 2017 didn’t turn out to be the best year and quite frankly, I’ve been a bit depressed. I’ve been doing a lot sleeping, eating more junk food than I should, and exhibiting some destructive behavior like scratching on the new couch. I guess it’s lucky for me that I can’t open the liquor bottles!

The main reason I’m feeling down is that I lost Geri, one of my best friends, this year. She used to come and visit me and let me sit on her lap, and pet me and pet me and pet me. And then she’d give me treats!! She was so wonderful. And I know that the humans miss her, too, so a lot of times I’ve got to put my feelings aside and look after them. They’ve been needing me to do a lot of purring for them.

So let’s make a deal, huh, friends? If I promise to write more often next year, will you all promise to make sure that this Holiday season, you’ll take the time to forget about gifts and family disagreements, and instead make sure that you appreciate each and every one who’s with you this year? You never know what may happen next year....

Merry Christmas, Geri. I miss you.

Whaaat! I curled up in late September to take a nap, and when I awoke it was almost Christmas!!! How did that happen??

I'm not exactly sure what this is, but I can guarantee you that it's a human thing. You'd never catch a cat doing this (and maybe not even a dog!).

I love those Canadians...

They went and built a whole new hockey arena in Edmonton just for me!

(I don't have the heart to tell them that they left the apostrophe out of my name...)

Crying and crying and crying...

I lost one of my best friends in the world the other day, and I'm sooo sad.

Geri always used to tell me that she felt terrible that I couldn't see. But what she didn't realize was that I could see every ounce of love she always showered on me.

Goodbye, Grandma. You're one of the best humans I've ever known, and I'll miss you forever.
