The 2018 Poway Days Parade by Tyler Christian and Basma Bahia

The 2018 Poway Days Parade began with the beat of marching band music and infectious cheers and laughter on a Saturday morning. Team PUSD was out in full force for this annual tradition, from elementary schools showing their school pride to high-school bands performing flawlessly in the hot September sun. A sense of school spirit and community pride electrified the air. The feeling of excitement was contagious, with hundreds of spectators eagerly awaiting the line of cars, horses, and floats down Poway Road.

Midland Elementary Float
Midland Elementary School incorporated Dr. Seuss into their float, in their interpretation of the theme: "Be the Inspiration"
The sun glinted off the brass and silver instrument, emitting a warm light that matched the welcoming atmosphere
The morning started off overcast, as bands from across PUSD lined up to practice.
All five PUSD marching bands and color guard teams participated.
Westview ROTC
Team Spyder, Poway High's Robotics team was a crowd favorite.
Pomerado Elementary School, a No Excuses University; Willow Grove Elementary, a California Distinguished School; and Park Village, a California Distinguished School all marched in the parade.
PUSD VIPs, including Board Members and employees of the year had fun with the crowd.
