To plot a line put in random number for x (preferably easy number) then follow the equation and fill in the spaces for for y.

A quick way to find the gradient is is to draw a tringle connecting at two points along the line. The rise is vertical and the run is horizontal. Then follow the equation rise/run to find the gradient.
