Still Life Rustic

Week 9 of the Dogwood 52 week Photography Challenge is to capture artistic Still Life.

Still life photography is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically common objects which may be either natural or man-made.

To find such animate subjects and portray the rustic past I visited a ranch for a single stop opportunity. Everywhere I turned something of the past wants to unearth it's story.

Pioneers made so much out of so little. The west is only wild to the imagination and continues to offer a sense of nostalgic wonder, challenges, discovery and for some the agony of defeat.

Panes of life

The window at this ranch quickly caught my attention with the double blue-top glass panes, almost seem like reflecting the sky but stands out of its own. The white border and tint of visible yellow from the bark peel is yearning to tell the story of a little girl peeking out from inside. Go imagine yourself.
