'Tis the Season! Woodlands high school holds its 2016 winter concert

Woodlands High School held its 2016 Winter Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 14, which featured performances by the High School Concert Band, the High School Vocal Ensemble, and the High School Jazz Band in a brightly decorated WHS auditorium.

Selections included Alan Silvestri's "A Night at the Movies," John Lennon's haunting "War Is over," jazzy versions of "Silent Night" and "Deck the Halls," Morgan Lewis' jazz number "How High the Moon," and Charles Mingus' classic, "Moanin'." The jazz orchestra and concert band were conducted by Brian Kennedy and the Vocal Ensemble was conducted by Shirley Crabbe. Greenburgh Director of Arts Miriam Bernabei welcomed the audience, and parents from the Greenburgh Parent Music Association sold refreshments and held a raffle to raise money for the music program.

Happy Holidays to all our friends and family members from the Greenburgh Schools!
