RMC vs West Point Saturday - 2019/01/19

West Point, NY - RMC and USMA West Point resumed the longest international hockey rivalry in thrilling fashion on Saturday night at Army's home arena, Tate Rink. West Point pulled ahead in the final 10 minutes of the 83rd edition of the hockey exchange to win 5-2.

Brad Van Schubert was the star for RMC, keeping the game scoreless through the first 20 minutes. The Paladins goalie made 53 saves in his first West Point appearance.

1st Intermission

The teams were tied 0-0 after 20 minutes.

Rhett Willcox scored the first goal of the game to give RMC the lead in the second period.

After Kevin Dineen tied the game for West Point, Willcox found the back of the net again for his second goal of the game.

2nd Intermission

With 20 minutes left, RMC led West Point 2-1.

After West Point's Colin Bilek scored to tie the game, three power play goals for Army sunk RMC in the third period.

Bilek's second of the game gave West Point the lead in a 5 on 3 situation, followed by another goal on a two-man advantage from Army teammate Brendan Soucie. Zach Evancho's power play goal on an empty net rounded out West Point's scoring.

RMC (4-17-1) returns to Constantine Arena for matchups against Ottawa (17-1-3) and Laurentian (5-14-1) on the 25th and 26th.
