Attackmen Beware Warrior's Regulator Max head is tilting the scales for defenders

MAX Design

It's easy to see why different positions on the lacrosse field require different features in a stick/head combination, and for defenders, that key feature is stiffness. Laying checks and scooping groundballs can be punishing to a head, so they need something that can stand up to the high demands of the position. Warrior had that in mind when they started designing the Regulator Max Warp Pro with Warrior Defensive Player of the Year Tucker Durkin.

"THE STRENGTH AND STIFFNESS OF THE HEAD ARE PERFECT FOR THROWING HARD CHECKS," SAID DURKIN. "THROUGHOUT MY CAREER, I’VE STRUGGLED TO FIND A HEAD THAT WASN’T BENDING ON ME DURING THE COURSE OF A PRACTICE OR GAME. THE REG MAX WARP PRO IS ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE WEAR AND TEAR THAT DEFENDERS PUT ON THEIR HEAD FROM THROWING A VARIETY OF HARD CHECKS. THE STRENGTH WILL ALLOW DEFENDERS TO ASSERT THEIR PRESENCE ON THEIR MATCHUP BY THROWING GOOD, HARD, CLEAN CHECKS…IT'S BY FAR THE BEST HEAD I HAVE EVER USED."

Consistency

"The Reg Max Warp Pro will be an immediate value add for any defender," said durkin. "The biggest thing that jumps out to me based on my experience with the stick, and the feedback I’ve received from my peers and players, is the consistency with which the head throws. As a defenseman, that has to be your number one point of emphasis with respect to the head you are using: you need a stick you know is going to throw and release the same way every time. The number one goal of any defender or defensive unit is to figure out a way to safely get the ball back to your offensive players. The Reg Max Warp Pro embodies consistency."

This is the characteristic in the entire family of Warp heads that separates them from all others. When you pull a Warp off the shelf at the sporting goods store, it will perform exactly the same that day as it will after you've used it for months. The days of tinkering with your strings or making adjustments between games - or even between shifts - are gone. And the pocket is 100% weather resistant, assuring consistency no matter how many times you have to play in the rain or snow.

mid-high pocket

"our mid-high pocket is designed specifically for a defensive player and allows them to gain immediate control after scooping a groundball or catching a pass. By having the ball in the sweet spot immediately after taking control, it allows them to throw consistent outlet passes or carry the ball down the field with ease," - OWEN MURTAGH, WARRIOR LACROSSE

convenience

To prepare for each of his games with the Florida Launch, Tucker Durkin reviews notes that he has kept on every offensive player that he's faced. That kind of preparation takes time - a commodity that pro athletes have little of - which is why he values a head that requires no stringing at all. Could you imagine a hockey player sharpening his own skates before a game or a baseball player re-stringing the laces on his own glove? The majority of elite players already don't string sticks and the Warp Pro solves that issue for players still spending time and energy on it.

Loc Throat

"after games of laying punishing checks, heads will start to wear out. the throat will expand and the head will start to rattle on the shaft. This decreases accuracy and durability. We solved this with our new and improved loc throat technology. It is a plastic insert in the throat of the product that completely prevents head rattle. As the screw is inserted, the legs of the insert put outward pressure on the shaft, leaving a rattle-free connection."- OWEN MURTAGH, WARRIOR LACROSSE
