The island of Zanzibar, a semi -autonomous state of Tanzania, is full of mystery and famous for its spice plantations. An open cultural merge between Africans, Arabs and Indians flourishes in Zanzibar. The capital, Stone Town, has narrow winding streets, vivid markets and colourful bazaars that fascinate every soul. There are still many buildings standing from the days of the great sultans who ruled this island. The exploration of spice plantations producing cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves will no doubt tantalize your senses. The islands beaches are white, sandy and palm fringed.
