BUENOS AIRES

legado mitico

Palermo Soho

Our home in Buenos Aires ... and what a home!

Just 11 rooms ~ each individually styled on Argentine personalities ~ we were in 'Le Heroe' ~ Jose de San Martin, pioneer of the Independence movement not just of Argentina, but the other South American countries colonised by Spain.

CAminito, La Boca

A bit of pre-planning in the hotel lounge area above ~ and we produce a rough itinerary of where we're going and how to ge there ~ using the subte ~ the underground ~ and the bus!

biking and walking buenos aires

Food and alcohol stops included!

Whilst architecturally there are strong nods to French and Spanish styles ~ renaissance; art deco and art nouveau and gorgeous wide tree-lined boulevards ~ it's Italy that gets the biggest nod! We hadn't realised Argentina had a such strong Italian heritage ~ more than 60% of the population have Italian descent ~ and we loved it! Pizza, the best ice-cream you can ever have!

Guerrin ~ the most amazing pizza you will ever taste! Heart attack inducing if you were to have more than two pieces, but wow ~ every saturday evening the restaurant seats and serves more than 400 guests at any one time, with nearly 100 waiting staff alone!

We'd go back to Buenos Aires just for the food and wine!

Did we mention cocktails?

A fabulous way to end the most fantastic trip ... an upgrade!
