William Floyd Board of Education meeting 12-13-16

The December 13, 2016, William Floyd Board of Education meeting kicked off with a fantastic flute solo by Tangier Smith Elementary School fifth grader and level 5 performer, Kassidy Chamberlain! Kassidy's teacher is Sharon Kitzis. She performed a Mozart/Christmas medley. Please enjoy snippets of her performance below.

The William Paca Middle School cast of the OCEAN Arts production of "Elf The Musical Jr." also was on hand to perform three songs. Special thanks to Cathy Meinhold and April Franzino of OCEAN Arts, director Kyle Imperatore (WF Class of 2011), the William Floyd Community Summit and the Community Library Friends of the Arts! After the musical performances concluded, the Board recognized some of William Floyd's student athletes for their wonderful accomplishments this past fall sports season. They began with Amber Birchwell, the most highly decorated girls varsity soccer player in William Floyd history, which saw her earn the following honors: All-County, All-Long Island First Team, All-NYS First Team, All-East Region Team (National Soccer Coaches Association of America), Suffolk County Large School Player of the Year. She was introduced by her coach, Matthew Sanders, and later recognized by Suffolk County Legislator Kate M. Browning's office.
