Our trip started on February 23rd. We landed in San Juan and immediately got a taxi out to El Yunque rain forest. One and a half hours and $100 later, we arrived at our amazing bed and breakfast, Casa Flamboyant.
Just a pick of our private balcony while standing in the doorway to our room. Yup, those are clouds and that is the rain forest right behind those clouds. No biggie.
We were REALLY sad that we only had one night there. It was incredible. There were a few trails right on the property that led to beautiful waterfalls.
This was the shared patio that we could all use. The pool was filled with fresh run off from the rain forest. Kind of cold, but so incredibly refreshing!
Beautiful plants ALL over the place. It was so quiet and calm there.
The next morning, Friday, February 24th, we went on a canyoneering adventure with Kalichi tours. It turned out that it was just Mandi and I, so there were only four of us, Jose & Tony, Mandi & Shannon.
Apparently a smile just didn't feel right to me when taking these pictures....
The moment where I'm fairly certain I bruised my ribs...
At least I'm consistent.
Not the worst setting for a few hours of fun...
That afternoon, we headed to the airport in Ceiba to fly to the tiny island of Culebra. It's about 4 miles x 7 miles and totally beautiful.
