Nearly half of America’s banks had failed, and unemployment was approaching 15 million people, or 30 percent of the workforce. occurred in October of 1929. Its was a bad time for people everywhere.The stock market crash caused millions of dollars to be lost. The stock prices began to decline in September and late October. Thousand of investors were wiped out by the stock market crash also. After October 29, 1929, stock prices had went up, so there was a little recovery during succeeding weeks. Overall, however, prices continued to drop as the United States went into the Great Depression. The good news was that they had went up and the stock market was recovering
