Our main aim at Guiseley School is to raise students’ achievements so that they may benefit from the range of opportunities available to them upon their completion of secondary school education. We base this on a supportive environment in which our students are clear about our expectations. Whilst exam results are only one measure of a school’s success, we are extremely proud of all our students’ achievements. We have developed a high quality and challenging academic curriculum that challenges young people to think deeply about their learning. We help our students to use their talents and strengths to become confident citizens of the future. We are a fully inclusive school working with all age groups across the full ability range. It is important to us that students develop the skills to learn, not only whilst they are with us, but also throughout their lives as citizens of the 21st century.
Guiseley School has an exceptional standard of pastoral care provision and provides a caring community in which students feel valued and supported. We provide opportunities for personal development through several extra-curricular activities. This includes a full range of Arts opportunities for students that has led to the schools ‘Artsmark Platinum’ status. We expect students to play a full and active part in school life. An issue that we have been working to address is a lack of investment in accommodation. We have now opened our Sports and Arts block are looking forward to completing our building works in 2021. This will support our ambition to deliver outstanding teaching in an outstanding physical and behavioural environment.
Choosing the right secondary school for your child is an important decision, and we recognise your desire to give them the best possible education.
