Being 15 in Mexico brittney rodriguez Period 5

The green part of the flag stands for hope. The white part represents purity. The red represents the blood of those who died fighting for independence for Mexico. The eagle eating a snake is based on an Aztec story

Being 15 in Mexico is troubled yet full of opportunity, because of having bad influences, but also having enjoyable free time.
Challenges of being 15 in Mexico include having bad influences and doing stuff because of peer pressure.
Some young people in Mexico get involved with drugs/alcohol because of bad influences and peer pressure. (Anaya/Becerra/Rodriguez)
Because teens have bad influences and fall into peer pressure, they might get involved with drugs or alcohol. They feel the pressure to fit in and do what everyone else is doing.
Teenagers, in their free time in Mexico, might go grab something to eat, play a sport, practice a hobby, or interact with friends.
Teenagers in Mexico might go play soccer, ride horses, practice their roping skills, go to la plaza, get some ice cream, corn, churros, fruit, tacos, burritos, hot dogs, or cheeseburgers, ride motorcycles/fourwheelers, go to the pool, and hang out with friends during their free time. (Anaya/Becerra/Rodriguez)
Teenagers in Mexico have quite a lot of freetime, and since Mexico is such a free country to roam around, there are numerous things to do. Teens as young people have so many opportunities and new things to try out.
Being 15 in Mexico is both troubling as well as full of opportunity. The people you hang out with, impact the decisions you make. There are so many places to go, food to try, and things to do. Mexico has abounding opportunities that the United States doesn’t have.
Through this process, by making a connection, I realized that I connect to many of the evidence pieces I collected.
Some parents of teens in Mexico over protect their kids, they don’t let them go out much, they do this to keep their kids out of trouble.
“Sometimes my parents don’t let me go out to dances or concerts or parties because they say I’m too young to be going to those types of things. They say I have to be 15 in order for me to be allowed to go. It makes me really mad.” (Anaya)
I relate to this because numerous times I’ve wanted to go to dances or concerts where some of my favorite artists are playing, and my parents don’t let me. They say I’m “too young” to be going to those types of things and that at 15 I will be allowed to go. It makes me really frustrated.
Even though it might not seem like it, we are quite related to other 15 year olds from around the world. I found that I had a lot of connections to the 15 year olds in Mexico.
