CSB Block Class

Student of Crater School of Business, Innovation, and Science

I am a student of Crater who is a part of the business block, CSB. This block class is a program that integrates business, English, digital programs (Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and other programs within the Adobe Suite), and world studies. The first year I participated in this program, I developed a International Marketing Project for a Non-Profit organization in a foreign country. I also developed a portfolio developed with code through Adobe Dreamweaver which can be accessed here,

We also developed extremely professional resumes for the high business level positions at work places. Not to mention, our myriad of Photoshop projects which can also be accessed on my portfolio (NOTE: not all projects are listed). Also we did extensive research into careers and colleges we would potentially be interested in and those are also included in the portfolio.

CESPN - This is Crater Entertainment Sports Programming Network, and being an original member from the beginning has developed many of my films skills. Originally starting out as a 4 member group quickly spread to a 13 member group in a short few weeks. Our high school's sports director did a ridiculous amount of fundraising for a 10-foot-wide video screen attached to a large Daktronics scoreboard that costed $200,000+. With this and addition to three Sony HXR-MC2500 cameras, we began broadcasting the game live to scoreboard just like colleges, except it is at the high school level. Our group only did this for a while but we have started accumulating footage of the games and plan on creating a "Sports News" segment for our high school, much like that of ESPN or local sports news with high lights and talks about varying details. Also, we will cover school news such as events or things going on around campus.

University of Oregon

University of Oregon

My selection of college is currently U of O. This is so because they have an amazing business program for students to gain a bachelors degree in business administration. This is beneficial for me because I gained approximately 30+ business credits being in the CSB block program and I will have math covered due to my level of math, that being AP Calculus. I would one day like to own my own business. To serve people in some way while doing something that I enjoy is my primary goal in life in this moment of time.

Another thing that interests me is cinematography and sports casting. For some reason, I love video cameras and film. University of Oregon is a member of the PAC-12 network, which is a group of people who film and broadcast sporting events live, just like ESPN. The special thing about it is that it is partially student ran. This means there are students behind the cameras, color correcting, and directing the whole show. Now it isn't completely student ran though. They give students opportunities to intern with them doing different things around the network. I personally have some sports casting experience meaning I could have a higher chance of obtaining a spot in the PAC-12 network and work my way up. ESPN even hires people straight from the PAC-12 network to join their company. This could be an extra ordinary opportunity to get into the film industry. With any of that experience you could put it on a resume and build it around film and have plenty of the experience to film and direct your own movie.

Application Processes

Due Date - February 15, 2017

This is the date that I need to have all of the applications done and transcripts with SAT scores sent in to the colleges admission staff. I plan on attending this school Fall of 2017 to obtain my Bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing. I will develop my graphic design and wed design skills on my own time to further my advantages in business.
