The Opportunity

A Travel and Transport client wanted to maximize reuse of non-refundable tickets. Previously, the client had only exchanged tickets belonging to the same traveler.

Our Approach

Travel and Transport recommended the client expand its non-refundable ticket reuse program. With education and guidance by the account manager, the client began to take full advantage of airline rules regarding exchanges permitted for tickets with different traveler names. Travel and Transport’s reporting tracked department hierarchical use of unused tickets in order to balance internal travel spend numbers.

Our automated unused ticket tracking technology, Banx, captures, monitors and reuses unused airline tickets. From traditional and online bookings to small business award tickets and bookings made outside the GDS, our technology does all the work.

The Results

As a result of the new strategies, the client used 25% more nonrefundable tickets compared to the previous year. This percentage translated to tickets equivalent to over 10% of their air spend being exchanged, an increase of more than 4% from the previous year.
