FIVE DECADES OF SERVICE

J.D. Bucky Allshouse '71 came to Rice in 1967 because he was impressed with the people he met when he visited campus -- they made him feel welcome and at home. Bucky, in turn, thrived at Rice. He excelled in athletics, in academics and as a Rice supporter and volunteer. He has worked tirelessly to share the Rice experience with others, but, more importantly, he's cultivated and contributed to the sense of community that makes Rice feel like home to so many others.
