The Hunger Games Corey buckner

District 12 is a very poor coal-mining district located in the region formerly known as Appalachia (3.50). Katniss and her family live in the poor section of District 12, the Seam, where the coal-miners live and work. There is also the Hob, the black market.
The Capitol is a tyrannical dictatorship, led by President Snow (before his death), and holds total political and economic dominance over Panem, enforcing its rule through an army of Peacekeepers, capital punishment, propaganda, and the Hunger Games.
At the end of Catching Fire, Gale sees Katniss on her way to District 13 and informs her that there is no District 12. It was destroyed with fire bombs by the Capitol. The only thing that wasn't destroyed was the Victor's Village. In Mockingjay, District 12 slowly rebuilds after the war.
The Capitol hijacked Peeta's brain using tracker jacker venom. This specific form of torture was chosen to hurt Peeta not just on a physical level, but to actually alter his memories of Katniss and make him hate her.Katniss asks if it was his bomb that killed Prim. Gale isn't sure and tells her to shoot straight at Snow before he leaves. While Katniss can never be sure that it was Gale's weapons that did it, she realizes she will never be able to look at him the same way again.
When she was 16, Katniss volunteered to take her sister's, Primrose Everdeen, place in the 74th Hunger Games after Prim's name was called during the reaping. Countless times during the games, she was encountered by enemies, deadly bees, and Mutated, demonic creatures.
She is arrested at the end of the 75th Hunger Games but is released when the rebels win the war against the capitol. She witnesses Katniss kill President Coin and goes back home to the Capitol afterwards.
Katniss Everdeen prepares to win the war against President Snow and the tyrannical Capitol. Together with Peeta, Gale, Finnick, and others, she travels to the Capitol to kill Snow. However, President Coin, the leader of District 13 and the rebellion, hides a bigger agenda that could not only jeopardize Katniss' life, but the future of Panem.
