This weaving is a representation of our oceans. The blue ribbon represents the water taking up only a small fraction of the weaving. The green yarn is the ocean life and plant matter that sits on the ocean floor. The plastic bags and black net represent the commercial fishing waste left to degrade in the ocean. The colourful fabric represents the colourful aquatic life, fish, octopi, crustaceans etc. The bottle contains a simple note “We’re sorry”, sorry for the degradation we’ve caused to marine life, sorry for humanities greed and over consumption of wild fish populations, sorry for corporations that mindlessly pollute, exploit and pillage the oceans, leaving behind waste and disrupting the natural order.
