In the last week of this half term, we began to look at places of worship for the six main religions of the world.
We also looked at the symbols used in the religions and sorted them accordingly.
Following on from this, we are going to focus on Buddhism and the places of worship and symbols within this religion.
As a school we have been walking, running, cycling and swimming for Miles for Refugees whilst raising money for the Red Cross.
We have worked together to collect the miles we have done and have tracked our progress across the world map from Syria, through Turkey to Lesbos in Greece.
On Friday, each class took it in turns to walk non-stop. When one class finished, another took over. We made donations to come in sports wear to do this and also collected sponsors.
It was tiring but worth the effort to raise money to help the Red Cross support refugees.
Olivia, Molly and Soliana were in the Golden Book this week for their hard work and impressing us in the first half term back after the summer. Well done girls!
Mrs Bewick made us all Stars of the Week. Mrs Hodgson, Mr Walker and Mrs B have been so impressed with how well we have settled into Year 5.
We are ready for the next half term. Bring it on!
