VIVID 2017 affectors arena; carnival of creativity

As part of the 2017 VIVID festival affectors will host a carnival of creativity. We are inviting people who have not had their innate creativity recognised, validated and encouraged for a long time to come and be woken up so that they may live a more creative life.

We would like to host the event at Ballast Point Park

Ballast point park offers an environment that bridges art (poetry and sculpture), with commerce (Caltex) and a unique view of the heart of the VIVID festival in Circular Quay.

What's happening in affectors arena?

5 professional artists in a diverse range of mediums and innovators, futurists and neuroscientists will invite the audience to participate in a range of thinking and performing games. By engaging in these activities adults and children will realise creative resources they were not aware they had access to.

Games are specifically designed around the top 5 skills in 2020 as rated by the World Economic Forum

Four of the five games will be designed to be played independent of electricity. They will mostly be lateral thinking game and performance.

One of the games will involve Virtual Reality technology. The electricity for this will be provided by affectors. We have already done this in previous years at VIVID.

The carnival will take place over 3 nights and each night's experience will last 2 hours.

50 adults and children will be invited to participant each night.

Food trucks will provide food at their own prices and will be parked on the street.

The affectors have been encouraging people from all walks of life to interact in creative ways since 2013.

The affectors have been collaborating with artists to create interactive multimedia events that people from the arts and business can enjoy together.

Proposed dates:

June 13, 15 and 16 from 6-8pm

Bump in and out:

We would need 2 hours to set up and 1 hour to pack down on each of the 3 nights.
