AFRICAN AMERICANS DURING WWII

How were they treated?

African Americans experienced segregation and discrimination during the war. They were not treated fairly. They were able to serve in the war, but they were separated from the whites. They had their own group and was placed in certain jobs for war. For example, they were not allowed to fight on the front line.

How did they respond to such treatment?

African Americans did respond to this treatment. Some responded through resistance and/or rebellion to fight back. However, they still contributed and supported the war and the country. African Americans were never a great population of those in war though, with only 5% participating.

Did they contribute anything to the cause of the war (WWII)?

African Americans played a role in WWII. They were allowed to serve and work in the war. They helped and supported the war. Many were directly involved by serving. They contributed through the interaction of other people towards African Americans.

What is your analysis? Opinion? Reaction to the action(s) taken by each community?

After reading many posts on the involvement of African Americans in history, I really feel disgusting on how African Americans are treated. I especially oppose how people are against or dislike African Americans due to their skin color and of racism. African Americans have made a huge impact in our country and our world till to this day and they have struggled from people's unneeded negative comments. I believe the world can change this in the future and become better at how they are treating people.
