2018 McDaniel Women's Soccer Week 2: September 5-11

Road Warriors

The season started at home on Sunday. However, the Green Terror will now play the next three on the road and seven of the next eight. All three of the next four road games will be played at least partially under the lights with start times of 5:00 or later. McDaniel is 10-12-2 all-time under Sandy Lagana in games that start at 5 p.m. or later.

Starting Strong

McKenna Zerbe posted a shutout in her first start for the Green Terror. The transfer from Kutztown played three games and going 2-0 for the Bears as a freshman last season, posting a 0.92 goals-against average and .333 save percentage. In her first game with McDaniel, she made five saves in the shutout performance.

9/5: McDaniel at York (Pa.), 7:00

The Spartans (1-1) split a pair of games on opening weekend, falling to Catholic 2-0 on Friday before topping Alvernia 5-0 in the home opener on Sunday. Ryan Hussey recorded a natural hat trick in Sunday’s victory.

The Lions (2-0) won both of their games on opening weekend. Albright topped Marywood 5-2 on Saturday before defeating Immaculata 2-0 on Monday. Lauren Haley led the offense with three goals.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Kristen Worry notched her first collegiate assist on Sunday. The sophomore scored three goals during her rookie season but did not record an assist. On Sunday, she found Lindsey Farrell for the first goal of the season in the 75th minute.

Rookie Debut

Two freshmen were in the starting lineup for Sunday’s opener. Hannah Schepers and Jules Dotterweich earned the starting nod during their first preseason camp. Schepers recorded four shots in her debut. All told, seven newcomers saw the pitch on Sunday.
