This evening, you're in for a treat! Your adventure begins with a pick up by your knowledgeable northern lights guide in a Super Jeep at a destined location. After that, you'll depart from the city, leaving the lights behind and set off into the darkness for your journey. Throughout your search for the northern lights, you will unknowingly travel through some of Iceland's most striking natural scenery but your guide will keep you informed of all the sights hiding in the night. The Super Jeep also gives you flexibility to see hidden gems off the beaten path that big buses cannot get to, which allows you a greater chance of seeing the northern lights and starry night without big crowds. Hot chocolate to keep you warm during this cold night will be provided, and those brave enough can add some Icelandic Brennivín!

You'll be traveling today on this awe-inspiring route along the Iceland's southern coast, where you will encounter breathtaking waterfalls, impressive glaciers, iconic natural monuments, and incredible vistas. Through the vast grasslands that divide the glacier-covered peaks of Eyjafjallajokull from the ill-tempered waters of the Atlantic, you'll journey the Ring Road to the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls taking time to walk behind the former and enjoy panoramic views of the most remote, interior regions of the Icelandic Highlands, where ribbons of ash-colored ice flow from the hillsides. You will see the magnificent Solheimajokull glacier, ponder the majestic basalt columns at Reynisfjara, and stroll along the spirited black-sand beaches of Dyrholaey, concluding your journey in the quaint and quiet village of Vik.

Reykjavik VIP Nightlife

We start our night at the absolute best cocktail lounge in Reykjavik where we sip on delicious Icelandic cocktails, crafted by some of Reykjavik's most talented mixologists. From there a highly synchronized, sequence of bar hopping takes place. We hop into one of Reykjavik's most popular bars and enjoy our famous off-menu Coco-Puffs Cocktail. We visit one of our absolute favorite local hot spots, a true Viking bar where we blend in with the locals and enjoy some Icelandic brews, the traditional Brennivn snaps and fermented shark! Yup, you read that correctly! A local delicacy which dates back to the Viking ages. No one has truly experienced Iceland until they've had Black death and fermented shark!

Once we've shaken off that warm and fuzzy Viking feeling, we'll stop at Bill Clinton's favorite Icelandic restaurant, the famous hot dog stand (For some reason, the hot dogs are even better after a few drinks!)

November 6, 2020

Today you will head west on a full day magical, mystical small-group tour to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and surroundings.

Countless lunar landscapes and volcanic vistas lie in store for us as we drive west out of Reykjavik and head towards the magnificent Snæfellsjökull glacier.

The glacier sits atop the active stratovolcano of the same name that took centre stage in the Jules Verne sci-fi novel, ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’. You might even have spotted the ice cap glittering from across the bay in Reykjavik. The volcano is thought to house mystical powers and is considered by many to be one of the seven main energy centres of the earth, so don’t be surprised if you experience an unexplained spiritual energy flow whilst in it’s presence.

This is an area is of exceptional geological beauty – craters, lava fields (some more recent than others) idyllic, hidden coves and bizarre rock formations all lie in wait to be explored and discovered. Local legends and folk stories abound and are an essential element of this multifaceted tour. The day would not be complete without an Icelandic home-cooked early evening meal along with some local interaction - so, naturally, this is also included.

A fabulous tour that really hits the spot when it comes to observing volcanic phenomena, discovering Iceland’s dramatic coast line and experiencing a more spiritual and mystical side of Iceland.
