25th President of the united states from March 4, 1897 until his assassination in September 1901 ( 4 years of presidency). He was in the Republican Party
William Mckinley hometown was in Nile`s Ohio. As a young man,he briefly attened Allegheny Colllege before taking a post as a country school teacher.
when civil war broke out in 1861, McKinley enlisted in the union army he eventually earned the rank of brevet.
Returning to Ohio after the war,McKinley studied law, opened his own practice in Canton, Ohio and married Ida Saxton, the daughter of a local banker.
