Wanderlust Productions ClienT HIGHLIGHT: enCourage Kids Foundation – (scroll to view)

enCourage Kids Foundation serves children facing a variety of health issues – from those receiving chemotherapy treatments to those who live with a chronic illness that may not be visible.

These kids all deserve the same opportunities to laugh, to play, and to have fun – whether they are being treated in the hospital or living with their struggles at home.

With their needs in mind, enCourage Kids has developed initiatives that use entertainment and technology to make hospital stays a little less frightening and have created exciting family outings that make every day life a little more fun.

After 30 years as a chapter of a global organization, enCourage Kids Foundation separated in October of 2015 to become an independent non-profit, continuing its work and presence in the tri-state area.

With this transition (which included a new name), I was brought on board to manage and produce the creation of all new content for digital and marketing purposes.

A priority was to establish a new voice for the organization, creating new language to describe their programming and services.

Another was to create a new inventory of media (photos and video) that could be used across a variety of platforms.

Both of these priorities involved attending programs & events and conducting dozens of interviews.

Photos from various programs both in and out of the hospital

With these two focuses addressed, I was able to launch a new website, creating a look that corresponded with the new logo and branding.

In addition to showcasing their programs, events, community partners, and ways to get involved, I also created a blog and trained the staff to manage and maintain an editorial calendar.

I also led the effort in creating a social media presence from scratch, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. This also involved creating an internal social media policy.

Other creative services I offered included designing marketing materials and collateral such as event signage, email communications, newsletters, and annual reports.

Tales of Courage

As part of their brand re-launch, enCourage Kids Foundation introduced a visibility campaign across the tri-state area.

The artwork for the campaign was developed pro-bono by Geometry Global and is appearing on billboards around the area (including in Times Square) as well as buses and trains.

To support this campaign, I created the digital components for the enCourage Kids website.

When directed to the site via the url appearing on the campaign, I produced the behind-the-scenes artwork, translated the incredible experiences of these courageous kids into fairy tale narratives, and created artwork & videos for social media.
