Father Thomas Niehaus Honoring #HeroPriests

Father Thomas Niehaus | Most Holy Redeemer, Montgomery, MN

Submitted by: Scott Bute

Fr. Niehaus live streamed daily Masses on Facebook. This included an outdoor Sunday Mass from the parking lot of St. Patrick's Church, Shieldsville, near Faribault MN. He also streamed weekly Stations of the Cross in Lent, and was able to continue with First Holy Communions and Confirmations as scheduled in a safe manner. This priest works tirelessly and pours himself out constantly for the people he serves. Nothing short of totally amazing. When our daughter received her final vows into the Missionaries of Charity in Washington D.C. back in May, we could not attend because of the pandemic. Father Niehaus brought us in to the parish after his outdoor Sunday Mass, prayed the rosary with us, brought Jesus out to us for a Holy Hour of Adoration, and gave us lunch afterwards to boot! He wanted it to be a special day for us even though we could not be there with her! Amazing. I could go on and on...He totally pours out his life for everyone he serves and constantly challenges us to be saints!

He teaches, he brings Jesus to the sick and dying at all hours of the day or night, he counsels, his homilies are awesome and well prayed out. He is unafraid, he is boldly pro life, pro marriage, pro family and unwavering in his service as a holy priest. Most of all, he loves Jesus Christ with all of his heart, mind, soul, and strength and that is his greatest witness to us! You could not have a more deserving priest for this award than Father Thomas Niehaus!
